How does Fudiesel prevent galvanic corrosion where stainless steel meets aluminum?

Oct 15th,2026 16 Views

Fudiesel prevents galvanic corrosion where stainless steel meets aluminum by keeping the two metals from forming a wet electrical couple. Stainless and aluminum sit far apart on the galvanic scale, and in the presence of road salt or moisture the aluminum becomes the anode and corrodes at the joint, which is why a plain steel fastener or an unprotected contact face is a problem. Contact areas are separated with an insulating layer such as a gasket, a coated washer or a sleeve, and fasteners are chosen so the clamping point does not put bare stainless directly against bare aluminum. Where a mixed material joint has to be permanent, the surfaces are prepared and sealed so electrolyte cannot reach the interface, and the joint is kept out of areas where water collects. Fudiesel confirms the joint design against the drawing or the supplied sample and states the agreed material and isolation method in the written quotation.
