How is reinforcement fabric knitted for a silicone hose?

Oct 21st,2026 6 Views

Reinforcement fabric for a silicone hose is knitted into a sleeve, and the angle at which the yarns cross each other decides how the finished hose behaves under pressure. Yarns running closer to the hose axis resist lengthwise pull but let the hose swell outward; yarns crossing at a wider angle do the opposite, holding the diameter against pressure while allowing the hose to extend. That balance is what sets how far a hose moves when it is pressurized and how much engine movement it can absorb without loading a connection. The knit angle is set on the machine and has to stay consistent along the whole sleeve, because a section that changes angle becomes a stiff spot or a bulge once the hose is cured. The sleeve is checked for width, angle and splices before it goes to the build. Fudiesel confirms the reinforcement specification against the drawing or the supplied sample and records it in the written quotation.
