How does Fudiesel control the hardness of a silicone hose?

Oct 21st,2026 7 Views

Hardness decides how a silicone hose behaves at the joint, and it is controlled through the compound and the cure rather than through reinforcement alone. A softer hose conforms more easily to a bead or a slightly oval pipe, so it seals with less clamp force and tolerates small misalignment, but it can also collapse inward when a clamp is tightened or when vacuum forms in the pipe. A harder hose holds its shape, resists collapse and accepts clamp load without being cut, but it takes more effort to push over a bead and passes vibration on instead of damping it. What the process controls is consistency: the compound is mixed to an agreed hardness and the cure is held steady so the finished hose does not drift harder or softer across a batch, because a hose harder than its coupler expects will not seat. Fudiesel confirms hardness requirements against the drawing or sample and states them in the written quotation.
