Fudiesel produces a custom handmade titanium muffler for jet surfboards. A jet surfboard exhaust is a special case because the muffler sits in a water cooled housing on a small lightweight craft where every kilogram affects how the board rides, and where the outlet is close to the rider and to water. Titanium gives a high strength to weight ratio and resists the corrosion that wet exhaust gas and salt water cause on a mild steel or low grade part, which is why it suits this application. The muffler is built by hand from the buyer's drawing or a sample board, so outlet position, body length and mounting feet follow the actual hull rather than a generic shape.
