Fudiesel produces a full titanium cat-back exhaust kit for the 2022 Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ. Titanium is chosen here for weight and for the higher pitched note it gives compared with stainless, and both matter on a light rear-drive coupe where the exhaust hangs behind the axle and where sound character is part of the reason for changing the system. Piping is formed with mandrel bends so the bore stays constant through each curve, and the joints are fully TIG welded with shielding gas inside the tube so the internal weld face is not left oxidized. Tip design, muffler internal volume and the choice of a valved or straight-through layout are all agreed against the approved sample before production, and the kit bolts to the factory mounting points.
