Fudiesel produces a cold air intake kit for the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, and the diesel kit is not the same part as the Hemi gasoline intake sold for the same truck. The EcoDiesel is turbocharged, so the intake feeds a turbocharger inlet rather than the throttle body of a naturally aspirated engine, and the pipe route, filter position and heat shield pattern all follow the diesel engine bay. The kit keeps the factory mass air sensor position, so the original sensor is reused and the intake change itself creates no calibration work. The heat shield closes the filter off from radiator and exhaust side air, because a filter open to that air gains flow but loses the density that makes the flow worth having. Installation reuses the factory mounting points, and the kit is developed from a sample, drawing or scan of the diesel truck.
