Classic and Workhorse Diesel Coverage: 7.3L, 5.9L and Early Duramax — Fudiesel FAQ

Oct 12th,2026 6 Views

Older diesel trucks are a different market from new ones. Owners keep them, rebuild them and improve them rather than trading them in — and they struggle to find parts, because the aftermarket has largely moved to newer platforms. This page covers what Fudiesel manufactures for classic and workhorse diesel generations.

Fudiesel supplies intercooler kits, silicone boots, coolant hoses and piping for legacy diesel platforms including OBS and Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke trucks, 5.9L Cummins trucks and early Duramax generations.

Which legacy diesel platforms does Fudiesel cover?

Confirmed applications include:

  • Ford 7.3L Powerstroke — front mount intercooler kit for the 1994–1997 OBS trucks, and a titanium intercooler pipe kit for the 1999.5–2003 generation
  • Dodge 5.9L Cummins — silicone CAC intercooler boot kit for 2003–2007 trucks
  • GM Duramax — silicone CAC intercooler boot kit for 2006–2010 LBZ and LMM trucks, and silicone intercooler hose kits for LB7 applications including the 2002–2004 Sierra 3500
  • Ford 6.7L Powerstroke — cold side intercooler pipe for 2017–2022 trucks and coolant hose reroute kit for 2011–2026 F250, F350, F450 and F550 cab and chassis

Why is intercooler and charge air work so common on older diesels?

Because on these trucks the charge air system is the first thing to age out. Factory rubber boots harden and crack, factory intercoolers accumulate heat damage and debris, and any tuning or turbo work raises the pressure the original components were never designed for. An intercooler kit or boot kit restores reliability, and on a heavily used work truck it is often the highest-value repair available.

What is included in a classic diesel intercooler kit?

For the 1994–1997 OBS 7.3L Powerstroke application, Fudiesel supplies a front mount intercooler kit. Kits of this type generally include the intercooler core, the piping required to connect the turbo and intake manifold, silicone boots, and clamps. Buyers should confirm the exact contents for the specific application, since piping requirements change with the year and with any previous modification.

Why choose a titanium charge pipe kit for an older 7.3L truck?

Because these trucks are kept. A 1999.5–2003 7.3L Powerstroke that has been maintained is often worth more to its owner than its book value suggests, and the owners who rebuild them expect the parts fitted to outlast the next decade of use. Titanium resists corrosion, is lighter than stainless steel, and holds up in the hot side of the engine bay where the charge pipes run. Fudiesel produces titanium intercooler pipe kits in Grades 1 through 4.

Are silicone CAC intercooler boots still available for 5.9L and Duramax trucks?

Yes, and they are one of the most practical upgrades for these platforms. Silicone resists the heat, oil mist and pressure cycling that harden factory rubber boots, and it holds flexibility instead of cracking at the bead. Fudiesel supplies silicone CAC intercooler boot kits for the 2003–2007 Dodge Cummins 5.9L and for the 2006–2010 GM Duramax LBZ and LMM, plus LB7 hose applications.

Can Fudiesel produce a part that has been discontinued?

Yes, and this is one of the more common reasons owners approach Fudiesel. If the original part exists on the vehicle, it can be used as a sample: Fudiesel 3D scans it, captures the geometry — bend path, end diameters and bead positions — optimises the design, produces a jig, and supplies a sample for installation before production. Where no original part remains, dimensions and photos are the starting point.

How does a buyer confirm the right part for an older truck?

Engine generation matters more than the model year on these platforms, because configurations changed within a production run. Useful details to send:

  1. Engine code or generation — 7.3L Powerstroke, 5.9L Cummins, LB7, LBZ, LMM
  2. Body and chassis configuration — cab and chassis versus pickup, single or dual rear wheel
  3. OE part number where a part is being replaced
  4. Existing modifications — upgraded turbo, intercooler or intake changes connection sizes
  5. Photos of the current installation

Are parts available for private label and workshop programs?

Yes. Fudiesel produces parts for distributors, repair shops and online sellers with customer branding and packaging. Classic diesel applications suit workshops that maintain fleets of older trucks, because the parts solve a recurring problem rather than a one-off repair.

Order terms

Order quantities, sample policy and lead times are confirmed per part family in the written quotation, so pricing and scheduling stay accurate for the specific application.

How to request a part for a classic diesel truck

Send the engine generation, vehicle configuration and a photo or OE number to fudiesel@fupower.com or WhatsApp +86 199 0182 5634. Where the original part is available as a sample, that produces the fastest confirmed fit.
